Thermal Homogenization

We evaluated the efficiency and accuracy of our machine learning based material homogenization method for thermal analyses of PCBs. A coarse PCB mesh with a homogenized material field reduced the calculation time by 94% compared to a detailed PCB model where all traces and vias were explicitly modeled. As it can be seen in the video the differences in the caluclated temperature fields are negligibly small. Since we are working on an interface to the IPC2581 standard, we used the IPC 2581 testcase 3 for this evaluation.
